| Patent awarded for Salamander's universal adapter | ||
| Salamander Engineering has been awarded a patent (No. 2 342 417) for the Universal Adapter supplied with the Corrosion Guard range of water treatments for central heating systems. The Adapter, which remains the only one of its kind on the market, was introduced to make it easier for heating engineers to treat central heating systems by offering them more choice. The innovative design of the Salamander Universal Adapter allows Corrosion Guard chemicals to be introduced to the system via the radiator, the filling loop of a combi boiler or via the drain cock. All of which avoid the need to access the expansion tank in the loft, a feature that has proved very popular with Health and Safety officers in several large corporations. The flexibility of the adapter derives from its incorporation of a ½" BSP tapered thread, a ½" BSP parallel thread and a 12mm diameter hose connector in one unit. Each Corrosion Guard pack contains two of these adapters and a short length of flexible hose, enabling all of the connections described above to be made quickly and easily. The Corrosion Guard range includes the Part L-friendly Dualguard combined system cleaner and corrosion inhibitor, as well as individual cartridges and bottles covering System inhibitor, Fast Cleanse, System Cleaner, System Silencer, Heat Activated Flux, Leak Sealer, System Descaler and Limescale Remover. Products from Salamander's Corrosion Guard range have been selected by British Gas Home Services. |
