Salamander contracts extended by British Gas Home Servicing

Salamander Engineering has been appointed as the sole supplier of water treatment products for the Central Heating Installation division of British Gas Home Servicing and has retained its position as one of two suppliers to the National Parts Centre contract.

Alan White, Business Improvement Manager for British Gas commented: "Over the past two years Salamander have clearly demonstrated that both their products and after sales service have been able to meet the high standards required for the service contract side of our business. As a result we are delighted to be able to extend our contract with them in order that our installation teams can also use their product range as well".

Both contracts cover products from Salamander's Corrosion Guard range, encompassing Corrosion Inhibitor, Boiler Noise Silencer, Fast Cleanse system cleaner and Leak Sealer. Salamander is also providing water test kits for use by British Gas engineers.

Gaining acceptance by British Gas has involved extensive testing of the products, both in the laboratory and in the field. During the testing phase, Salamander's customer service, back up and independent water analysis service were also subjected to rigorous scrutiny.

Salamander sales director Sue Clews commented: "With Corrosion Guard we successfully created a range of products that are suitable for use with steel, copper and aluminium in both hard and soft water areas under both aerated and de-aerated conditions. The products have proved that they provide the performance required, backed by Salamander's competitive pricing and extensive service and back up in the field.
