| Patent award for Salamander's Dualguard combined cleaner and inhibitor | ||
| The innovative design of Salamander's Dualguard combined cleaner and inhibitor has been recognised in a newly issued patent (No 2 376 048). The only one of its kind on the market, Dualguard is designed to provide quick and easy compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations. In combining a cleaner and inhibitor in one cartridge, Dualguard allows a cleanse and inhibit of a central heating system to be carried out in one visit - quickly, simply and cost-effectively. As with all Corrosion Guard concentrates, the chemicals can be introduced to the system in a number of ways - using Salamander's patented adapter - including via the filling loop on a combi boiler. The Dualguard cartridge is divided into two compartments. The first compartment houses enough Fast Cleanse system cleaner to clean a system in one to two hours. The second compartment contains Corrosion Guard System Inhibitor concentrate to provide ongoing protection against corrosion after the system has been cleaned. System Inhibitor has been specially formulated to provide protection for aluminium, copper, steel and plastic including mixed metal and metal/plastic systems. "For optimum performance it is vital that central heating systems are thoroughly cleaned before corrosion inhibitor is added," explained Salamander sales director Sue Clews. "In combining the chemicals to perform both of these functions in one cartridge, we are helping engineers conform with the latest regulations as easily and cost-effectively as possible," she added.
